Melody A. Alger
Melody Alger is our founder and managing attorney. She focuses her practice on civil litigation, trial work, alternative dispute resolution and appellate advocacy. She has extensive trial experience and currently serves as President of the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an invitation-only organization whose members must demonstrate a record of extensive trial experience and meet the organization's high standards for skill and integrity as trial lawyers. She is the only woman in Rhode Island to have achieved this distinction.
Melody also has been recognized as one the top lawyers in Rhode Island, having been selected for inclusion in New England SuperLawyers in the category of civil litigation defense. Only five percent of the total lawyers in the New England states are listed in Super Lawyers and selection is based upon on a multi-step evaluation process, including peer recognition and professional achievement. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Rhode Island Women’s Bar Association, including two terms as its President.
Melody is skilled in alternative dispute resolution and frequently performs private party arbitrations and mediations. She frequently serves as a panelist or lecturer in areas such as women’s leadership and marketing, municipal liability, arbitration and mediation and evidentiary issues in accident reconstruction. Additionally, Melody has published numerous articles and industry reviews on topics including highway law, AED liability, civil practice, land use and regulatory takings.
Christopher R. Alger
Christopher Alger is a partner in our firm. Chris received a B.S. in finance from the University of Rhode Island and a J.D. from Roger Williams University. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he spent several years as an accountant for a large Real Estate Investment Trust in Boston.
Chris focuses his practice on civil litigation and governmental law. He has represented numerous municipalities, other public entities, businesses and personal clients. He frequently appears in courts throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He also represents clients in arbitrations and other alternative dispute resolution methods.
